Bill is a Social/News Strategist for USA TODAY Sports Media Group. He manages Golfweek.com, a 24/7/365 website covering golf, the Golfweek news desk staff and the Golfweek social channels. This requires strong multi-tasking skills, an ability to cover major events and exercise real-time personnel management. Bill also covers breaking news, trending pieces and live events. 

Golfweek’s digital PVs rose 85 percent from 2017-18 to 47.9 million. The number of unique visitors to the site increased 25 percent in the same period.

Previously, Bill was sports editor for Cox Media’s University of Georgia website (DawgNation.com) and managed the DawgNation Facebook feed with more than 450,000 followers.

Bill was deputy sports editor at the Orlando Sentinel during the 2000s, when it won multiple national awards and its lone APSE Triple Crown. He was Night Sports Editor at the Denver Post and contributed to the paper’s staff Pulitzer Prize-winning coverage of Columbine.

Starting in 2011, Bill built the Obnoxious Boston Fan brand into a unique and powerful voice in the competitive Boston media market and currently writes the OBF column for the Boston Herald. Bill has had No. 1 stories on the BostonHerald.com and Boston.Com sites. He wrote the most-shared story on any Boston Globe-owned site – “There’s a Reason Why Your Kids Aren’t Playing – They’re Not Good Enough” – with 900K Facebook shares.

Bill remains fluent in the latest media trends. He has instilled culture change at various stops. His method is one of strong leadership, fueled by clear communication and deft management skills.
